Carpenter hit with fraudulent conversion charge

April 22, 2026

Lawmen of the St Catherine South Police Division have charged a carpenter with fraudulent conversion, non-delivery of goods and services on a contracted date, misleading and deceptive conduct, and failure to provide a customer with a receipt, following an incident that occurred between February 18, 2024, and March 5, 2026.

Charged is 38-year-old Andron Creary, of West Cumberland, Portmore, St Catherine. Reports are that a man hired Creary to build and install cupboards at his home for $1,748,000. It was further reported that the man paid Creary $1,348,000 to commence the contracted work. However, Creary failed to complete the job, and attempts by the man to contact him proved futile. The man later made a report to the police.

On Monday, Creary was arrested and subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session with his attorney. His court date is being finalised.
