A ghost is haunting our house
Dear Pastor,
I want to tell you something that I did not believe in. I always hear people talk about ghosts, but I used to call them fools because I never saw one.
But, recently, my great-grandmother died and her funeral did not take place right away because there was no money. My parents eventually had a wake and their friends showed up. It was kept at my great-grandmother's house. After midnight, we were on our way home and we saw our great-grandmother walking, and we were wondering if that was really her. We tried to walk very quickly to catch up with her, but we couldn't, and we became scared. But we did not stop.
When we got home, we heard our great-grandmother laughing and we were scared. Several times after that, our great- grandmother visited our house. We can hear her voice. She calls us by name and tells our parents that they have taken too long to bury her. My sister and I want to leave the house. My father said that he is going to have somebody come to the house and burn incense to keep my great-grandmother's spirit and presence away from the house.
One night, my sister cried out because she said Great-grandma was standing at the foot of the bed. I don't know if you believe in these things, but I didn't believe until Great-grandma has been coming to the house and is very upset with her children. What can we do to drive her spirit away from the house? There must be something that can be done. I am going to be looking out for your answer in THE STAR.
D.W.
Dear D.W.,
You seem to believe that what you and others saw that night was the spirit of your great-grandmother.
You also believe that you heard her voice, ahat she was very unhappy with your parents because she was not buried soon after she died. Are you saying that she is now determined to harass your parents about not putting her away soon after she passed on? One's imagination can run wild at times and therefore you cannot be sure that what you saw or heard was from your great-grandmother.
I hope that you will not encourage your parents to use their money to get someone to come and burn incense to try getting rid of the spirit or duppy. You do not need to do anything. If you plan to do anything, just pray and ask God to give you peace of mind, and that is the way I see it.
Pastor
