Selector Boom Boom and content creator/dancer Tuff Head say the goat that was brought on stage during Masicka's performance at the former's birthday party on Sunday, was not a "diss", but a reflection of "pure love".

The deejay was caught by surprise mid-way his performance when Tuff Head forced his way to the stage carrying a well-dressed goat in his arms. Masicka and the crowd erupted with laughter, while some patrons chanted "One goat and a Masicka". However, vloggers and other music supporters have labelled Tuff Head's actions as "disrespectful". But he said it was quite the opposite.

"Dis was more dan a symbol of the love and support weh mi have fi Masicka; it's all out of pure love. Him mek my community of Passage Fort weh mi represent fa inna dancing look like somweh. Him put it pon di map and dat mek me feel proud," Tuff Head told THE WEEKEND STAR.

Despite the lingering heat stemming from the recent debate about the dancehall greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.) title, Tuff Head maintained that his decision was not influenced by the rivalry.

"Di whole a wi a one. Wi and Kartel grow inna Portmore just like Masicka, but Masicka is more closer to me because a we grow [him]. All wi come from di same community. Mi just a push my deejay fi mek him look forward to what him seh him be. Him done seh him a di G.O.A.T. suh mi just a show him seh wi a represent fi him," he said, adding that it was not a paid job.

Boom Boom said Masicka's invite to the show was more to "give mi a strength" than to perform.

"But because di youth dem love him inna di street and di vibes weh him under, him tell mi fi go fi a microphone and him hold a vibes and a deejay and di place was like a movie," said Boom Boom. He then clarified that Tuff Head always has a goat "fi when him hear di 'goat' song dem a play.

"Suh di Masicka song name [ La Cabra] give him a big promotion and mek him guh all over di place, and when di song a play him roll out di goat," the selector told THE WEEKEND STAR.

"Me know seh him always a represent suh yuh know wi affi gi di likkle youth dem di highlight because it prefer dem duh dat more dan guh to crime. Him (Tuff Head) know it ago guh viral, enuh, suh when him come in and Masicka see di goat, him give [Tuff Head] some space and him get di highlight."

Tuff Head said after honing this career for 26 years, he has appeared in several music videos for artistes such as Masicka, Elephant Man, KipRich, Predator and Bounty Killer. He is a member of the Tuff Head Squad, the dance group that is also widely known for several signature moves which dominate major street dances.

However, he said his latest addition to his props, the goat, first went viral in 2023 when he premiered Iyara's single, G.O.A.T Get Weh at Boasy Tuesdays. He also made an appearance in 2024 at Ding Dong's party held at the National Stadium. He revealed that he rents or borrows a goat or donkey from friends.

"Suh wi just guh capture a goat offa di housetop and put him inna a car and dress him up," he laughed. He also noted that persons were even debating the goat's gender, but he wasn't sure himself.
