A Westmoreland woman is accused of turning a heated argument into a blazing act of revenge after allegedly throwing a bottle that sparked a fire, destroying a Grange Hill home.

Twenty-five-year-old Kimberly Wedderburn, otherwise called 'Kim', a domestic worker of Linton Pen, Grange Hill, has been charged with arson following the incident along Belle Isle Road on Friday, December 26, 2025.

Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police say that around 1:00 p.m., the complainant was at the house with relatives and friends when an argument reportedly erupted with Wedderburn. She later left the area, allegedly threatening to set the house on fire.

Shortly afterward, Wedderburn was seen returning to the yard carrying a bottle. A sound resembling glass breaking was heard moments before the house erupted in flames.

Police were alerted, and residents, together with employees from a nearby factory, rushed to try to extinguish the fire. Their efforts were unsuccessful, and the house along with its contents, valued at more than $800,000, was completely destroyed.

Following an investigation and positive identification through a witness statement, Wedderburn was taken into custody and formally charged with arson. Her court date is being finalised.
