Zimi Seh suspect arrested at airport charged as second man turns himself in

The fallout from the wild brawl that erupted at the Zimi Seh Beach Party in St Ann has intensified, with the man arrested at the airport now facing two charges and a second man turning himself in to police.

Dave Taylor, 43, a business operator who lives in New York City, has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and unlawful wounding, his attorney, Donnovan Collins, told The STAR on Thursday.

Taylor was arrested on Monday at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, while he waited with his wife to board a flight to the United States.

But even as charges were laid against him, Collins maintained that Taylor was not involved in the melee.

“He was none of the persons that were seen in any of the videos about the incident that have been circulating on social media,” Collins said.

The attorney said he was not surprised by the decision to charge his client.

A court date has not yet been finalised for Taylor.

Meanwhile, the police investigation has widened, with a second man turning himself in at the Runaway Bay Police Station on Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Carlos Russell, commanding officer for the St Ann Police Division, confirmed the development and said the man is to face an identification parade.

The latest developments follow the violent confrontation at the Zimi Seh Beach Party at Puerto Seco Beach in Discovery Bay on Sunday, which was caught on camera and has since gone viral.

The brawl reportedly erupted after a splashing incident triggered an argument among patrons before the situation quickly descended into a physical fight.

Two Kingston teenagers, aged 15 and 17, were injured during the altercation.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the brawl and the roles allegedly played by those being pursued.
