Mom cursed me for getting pregnant at 18

Greetings to you in the mighty name of Jesus, our soon coming king. It is a joy to write to you.

I am 18 years old and I am pregnant. My boyfriend and I have been friends for a year and I got pregnant the first time we had sex. I had a boyfriend before; he is the one who took my virginity. But we broke up. This guy and I got to know each other and I love him very much, so I decided to have sex with him. The night he wanted to have sex with me, I asked him if he had 'boots' and he said no. I went along and had sex with him but he got me pregnant.

He comes from a good family. My parent knows his father. My father and his father attended the same school. This boy is very ambitious; he is attending university. He is planning to be an engineer. He came to see my parents and my father did not rough him up. My father asked him what his intention towards me is and he told my father that after graduation and he has a good job, he will marry me. My father told him that he will have to pay for me to go back to school. My father talked to him about the days when he and his father were attending school.

When my mother realised that I was pregnant, she cursed me, and every disagreement that we have, she tells me that I am worthless and I don't have any ambition. She said that if I did, I wouldn't have got pregnant. Sometimes when my mother says these things, I cry.

I am glad for your column because I read about other people and how they are struggling. My father took good care of me. I cry because my mother tells me things that a mother shouldn't tell a daughter, but I also cry because my father did not chase away the man who got me pregnant.
